Geographical Tips for this Holiday Season

When shipping products during the holidays, merchants should be wary of orders going to countries frequently associated to fraudulent transactions.

A considerable amount of orders from the following countries are FRAUDULENT:

  • Romania
  • Indonesia
  • Singapore*
  • Ghana -- a rising star of fraud!
  • Ukraine
  • Uganda
  • Nigeria
  • Hungary
  • Belarus
  • Estonia
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania
  • Slovak Republic
  • Russia
  • Yugoslavia
  • Macedonia
  • Phillipines
  • Thailand
  • Malaysia*

* People in Indonesia may use Singapore or Malaysia as the destination country and still receive their parcels. The Singapore and Malaysia Postal Services figure out where to send them.

Our advice is NOT to ship to any of these countries. In the long run, you may save money.

The following countries are on the U.S. Department of the Treasury sanction list:

  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • North Korea
  • Libya
  • Sudan

Other countries, regimes, and individual people are also listed, with varying sanctions and penalties. The Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control website is a good source, covering corporate responsibility regarding these sanctions.
